Passion Foundation: Wrap-up

For the Passion Foundation, a charity which supports young women with low self esteem engaged in self-destructive behaviours, Team 3 focused on three main goals.
We wanted to:
- maximize the charity’s new brand;
- refine their sponsorship ask kits;
- create marketing, social media and fundraising content.
In addition, we launched the group into social media via Facebook, created a campaign tab for their Facebook page to support fundraising efforts and launched Facebook advertising to drive traffic to the campaign page. Our approach was to create the tools to launch the campaign which the Passion Foundation could then continue to manage independently with face to face meetings and other initiatives.
Saint James Music Academy: Wrap-up

When Team Two met the Saint James Music Academy, an afterschool orchestra and choir music program located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES), they were looking for a basic sponsorship package. After taking a closer look, Edelman saw that the SJMA already had various fundraising capabilities in place – but had very little visibility outside of the local DTES community. To solve this, we recommended a three-pronged approach that would:
- Tell their story: We created a master narrative for the program with the position: “Transforming Lives Through Music in the DTES. “
- Drive Awareness: On Saturday morning of the Little Give, over 25 students took over the Vancouver Public Library square to hold a “Music Mob” showcasing their talent. Did we mention this was during Stanley Cup play-offs?
- Broaden/Deepen the Community: To continue outreach to supporters outside of the DTES, we expanded on their existing Facebook page with targeted Facebook advertising, a content plan and strategy. And to ensure all was integrated into their existing fundraising initiatives, we built a full corporate sponsorship package including program structure recommendations, fundraising event ideas and a full stationery package including their rebuilt logo and positioning.
Highlights included:
A public sing-along of O’ Canada, increased Facebook fans and tons of hand painted T-shirts featuring the new SJMA tagline.
Result:
SJMA staff and parents are looking for their next opportunity to host another “music mob” in downtown Vancouver.
PALS Autism School: Wrap-up

Team 1 paired up with PALS Autism School, the only school in British Columbia specifically for children and young adults with autism. The school of 16 students recently changed their name, but had no logo or overall branding to match. Their hope was for a new logo, but we knew there was so much more we could do. After a moving tour of this very important school, and the inspiration of the children’s artwork on the walls, we came up with a new logo design which we then translated into letterhead, business cards, powerpoint presentation templates, a revamped Facebook page and a new sign for the front of the school. Their website needed a refresh as well, but once we started delving into it, we realized they didn’t just need a refresh…they needed a whole new site design and programming. So late on Friday, we dug in. 24 hours later, and by the time we were presenting, the new site was live and in use!
We also recognized that what they needed perhaps most of all, was time. Their staff work long hours and put all their focus into the children. So we took it upon ourselves to source new uniforms for the kids and teachers, complete with the new logo, at no cost. These new uniforms will be delivered to the school this week. As well, we sourced a grant program that could help them with basic building repairs and set up contacts for potential new building space where the school, currently busting at the seams, could eventually move and continue to grow.
PALS is a small school that does big, big work. We were proud to work with them on our Little Give.
Team 1 has been busy! Great work guys!
Team 1 presents to the judges.
Little Give Team 2 is proud to report on a great day for St. James Music Academy (SJMA)!
We had over 30 students from SJMA join together at Library Square singing, dancing and playing cellos and violins for hundreds of passerby’s. Check out some of the video for some footage from the day.
